Background: What inspired your interest in clean transportation and/or sustainability?
“Last year I had an internship with the Virginia Transportation Research Council where I was introduced to how sustainable materials and methods are being used in transportation. I found these research projects to be very interesting and they sparked my interest in sustainability.”
After you graduate, what kind of work would you like to be doing? What are you most excited for about your future career?
“After graduating I plan to work in bridge design. I think this is an area of civil engineering that has a lot of potential to use sustainable and clean methods to improve.”
How has this scholarship helped you so far, and how might this scholarship help you prepare for your potential career?
“This scholarship will allow me to learn more about sustainable infrastructure and how I can play a role in implementing these practices into my work as a civil engineer.”
