Supporting National EV Workplace Adoption Through Recognition and Resources

The EMPOWER Workplace Charging Project is catalyzing workplace charging (WPC) adoption by connecting workplaces nationwide with local workplace charging coaches, reducing barriers through education, and providing access to a centralized library of helpful workplace-focused resources. VCC is a proud partner of this project.

The EMPOWER WPC Project is supporting and recognizing employers who pledge to expand access to EVs for their employees, regardless of their organization’s size or progress. EMPOWER provides a guided path to effective workplace EV installations and employee-facing programs.

Patch Brewing – Gordonsville, VA

Situated in rural Central Virginia, Patch Brewing is an important community space for hosting events, music, and other activities. In such a trafficked area, it was a no-brainer that they signed the EMPOWER pledge to add EV charging! Last May, we traveled to Central Virginia to celebrate the EV charger opening; visitors now have a charging option when visiting this community space! www.patchbrewingco.com

Hampton Inn – Norton, VA

Deep in Southwest Virginia, finding EV chargers is a difficult job; the Hampton Inn in Norton, VA wanted to help change that trajectory while providing an extra amenity to travelers. So, they signed the EMPOWER pledge, and in July 2025 we had the chance to join them in celebrating the opening of their EV charging stations. So exciting, that we even got cake for the occasion!
