David Wallace is a student at Virginia Commonwealth University. He majors in Electrical Engineering and will graduate in Spring 2026. Read more about his story in his own words below!
Background: What inspired your interest in clean transportation and/or sustainability?
“The interesting growing increase in electric vehicle use and its impact on the environment. I’ve always wanted to learn more about clean energy.”
After you graduate, what kind of work would you like to be doing? What are you most excited for about your future career?
“I hope to work with/on renewable energy. I’m excited for the many opportunities that will be available to me in my career such as fulfilling work and networking with likeminded individuals. I would like to leave a positive impact on people and/or the environment with my career.”
How has this scholarship helped you so far, and how might this scholarship help you prepare for your potential career?
“This scholarship has helped me tremendously financially and given me the opportunity to learn more about my field of interest. It’s helping me for my potential career by putting me in touch with key people in my field and showing me different routes I’ll be able to take in my journey.”
