Every year, each Clean Cities coalition submits to the Department of Energy  an annual Transportation Technology Deployment report that documents its activities and accomplishments for the previous calendar year. Coalition coordinators, who lead the local coalitions, provide information and data via an online database managed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). Virginia Alternative Transportation Fuels Report 2024

As of December 31, 2024, there were 29,346 alternative fuel vehicles in service across 150 green fleets in Virginia. Largest sector gains in hybrid-electric (HEV) saw a +16.8 rise and electric (ELEC) saw a growth rate of +13% across the Commonwealth. Biodiesel reporting made moderate gains.
