DUBLIN, Va.- Narro Trucks, a Dublin-based electric vehicle manufacturer officially launched its operations on August 20, marking an important milestone for advanced vehicle manufacturing and clean transportation in Southwest Virginia. Narro Trucks develops electric utility vehicles intended to help businesses work more efficiently and with lower operating costs. The company’s mission is centered on delivering sustainable, high-performance utility vehicles that combine innovative engineering with practical solutions for real-world work environments.
“Innovative energy solutions are ramping up in Virginia’s Ninth District. Narro Trucks in the New River Valley is a forward-thinking project that underscores regional commitments to help those who will benefit from these new technologies in transportation,” said U.S. Representative Morgan Griffith (VA-9). “I join New River Valley communities to celebrate a promising technology that will also provide domestic manufacturing jobs right here in Dublin.”
Narro vehicles are designed to support a variety of industries and can be customized with multiple body configurations and specialized upfits to meet the unique needs of customers in commercial, agricultural, municipal, and industrial sectors. Nearly 100 people from various industry sectors were invited to ride or drive the electric utility truck at Randolph Park including their most recent customer, Pulaski County Parks and Recreation.
“Pulaski County is extremely excited for the launch of Narro Trucks and what it means for employment growth and supply chain opportunities in the New River Valley,” said Pulaski County Administrator Jonathan Sweet. “We are just as excited for their zero-emission products to enter the marketplace and provide a smart, sophisticated and affordable solution to a variety of practical applications, especially the use by localities and municipalities to incorporate them into our operations and service fleets.”
The launch highlights the growing role of clean transportation technologies in supporting American energy independence and economic competitiveness. Because of this, Narro Trucks sought membership at Virginia Clean Cities, a coalition created to provide education and encourage deployment of alternative, domestic transportation fuels.
“Companies like Narro Trucks are helping demonstrate how innovative, American-made solutions can support both economic development and transportation sustainability,” said Alleyn Harned, Executive Director of Virginia Clean Cities. “With local electricity rates at one-third the cost of gasoline, this new business venture will help reduce dependence on imported fuels, improve energy security and provide businesses and communities with practical tools to lower operating costs and environmental impacts.”
The Narro team is made up of graduates of nearby Radford University and New River Community College. With three employees already on the payroll, the company hopes to continue to provide jobs and an economic boost for the region. Narro Trucks is working to secure funding and is open to the right investors to start production in Southwest Virginia with a goal to create 20 new jobs.

As the third generation in our family in auto manufacturing, we look forward to offering Narro Trucks as a promising answer to many future fleet challenges.”
