Join a National Energy Peer-Learning Cohort
The Energy to Communities (E2C) program is now accepting applications for its next round of peer-learning cohorts—six-month programs designed to bring together local organizations to explore emerging energy challenges and solutions.
E2C cohorts convene representatives from utilities, local governments, and community organizations to learn directly from energy experts—and from one another. Participants gain practical insights, tools, and strategies they can apply in their own communities, while building connections with peers facing similar challenges nationwide.
Cohort Topics for 2026
This round focuses on two timely and high-impact areas:
Leveraging Data for Modern Utility Grid Planning
As demand grows and AI reshapes system needs, utilities with strong data practices can plan more reliably and flexibly. This cohort helps grid planners and data managers understand essential data sources, storage and management best practices, and the standards and open‑source tools that enable system‑wide data integration. Participants learn how to map data to each stage of utility planning and improve cross‑team data flows.
Navigating Local Data Center Development
Communities are facing complex decisions as data center development accelerates—affecting energy costs, economic growth, resource adequacy, and land and water use. This cohort provides expert insights, peer exchange, and case studies to support informed, locally grounded planning and permitting.
How to Apply
Applications for the next cohort are open now and are due by April 30, 2026. Selected participants will be announced in June, with cohorts beginning in July.
In addition to the cohort program, E2C also offers ongoing one-on-one support through its Expert Match service, which connects communities with technical experts for targeted assistance.
