California’s drive to build up an electric driving charging station network has paid off. As of 2024, California held claim to 178,000 electric charging stations compared to 120,000 approximate gas nozzles, and the state hasn’t stopped their push for electric since then. With thousands of additional chargers implemented monthly since the start of 2024, the state has proven their determination to pioneer the shift to electric in the United States.
By installing new infrastructure, California hopes to re-frame the driving scene by making EV vehicles the easy decision in order to reach their ultimate goal: the complete ban of gas-powered vehicles by 2035. By installing new infrastructure and maintaining current electric charging stations, even hard-to-reach, remote places are being changed to safe destinations for EV drivers in need of a recharge. Despite administration push back, the state is undeterred in their aim to improve the EV driver experience as the state installs new infrastructure.
