The Charge at Home project is funded by the US Department of Energy and provides multifamily housing properties the tools and resources to advance the adoption of electric vehicle (EV) charging. Multiple home facilities such as apartments, rental complexes and more can benefit from the resources that this program offers. The goal of Charge at Home is to streamline EV charging planning and installation processes for the multifamily housing industry through education, resource sharing and support.

Guidance and support from this project includes EV charging installation toolkits for multifamily decision makers, education and tools for residents to use to advocate for charging where they live, as well general EV charging education and resources. This program will offer EV charging technical assistance support to multifamily housing stakeholders and affordable multifamily housing partners.

Virginia Clean Cities is leading this effort in the City of Charlottesville, with additional outreach in other cities in the Commonwealth. The Community Climate Collaborative (or C3) has been designated as the community-based organization for the project.
