EV Ribbon Cutting in Mathews County

The Mathews Volunteer Fire Department and Virginia Clean Cities would like to announce the activation of two new EV charging stations located at Station 3 – 2137 Old Ferry Rd Gwenn’s Island VA 23066 and Station 4 – 2852 Buckley Hall Rd Cobbs Creek VA 23035

This is the beginning of the EV charging stations roll out, two additional stations are in development also. In the future more charging station will be placed online.

A celebration event for the roll out on Friday May 8, 2026, at 10:30 am starting at the Gwenn’s Island location first and after the photo op we will travel to Cobbs Creek fire station for photos.
