2026 Transit + Rail Advocacy Day

From the Organizers: RESCHEDULED: VTA’s Annual 2026 Transit + Rail Advocacy Day has been rescheduled to Monday, February 2 due to the forecasted significant weather event! Registration has been extended until Thursday, January 29.

The schedule will continue as planned, on the new date of February 2. We plan on beginning the day with a morning briefing led by state transit and rail policy leaders, with coffee provided. The morning briefing will be held in the 2nd floor conference room of 1108 E. Main Street. Following the briefing, our members, advocates, and attendees will spend a day “On the Hill,” attending the Virginia Capitol Gallery and meeting with their representatives. The day will end with our Legislative Reception & Big BBQ Bash at the train shed of Richmond’s historic Main Street Station. The reception will include 300+ guests, including legislators, business leaders, transit/rail industry professionals, decision-makers, and more from across our Commonwealth.

We do require that each attendee RSVP for our Legislative Reception & Big BBQ Bash (if attending) using vatransit.com/BBQBash by EOD Thursday, January 29th.

All VTA members are free to attend the reception, and as usual, Advocacy Day itself is open to all! Any non-members of VTA can purchase individual membership for $50 to attend the reception through this link (just make sure to also RSVP as required).
